The varieties, specifications, colors, patterns, and grades of the paving bricks shall comply with design requirements. The product quality must meet the national standards for square bricks. No products with chipped edges, broken grains, cracks, or damage are allowed. It is strictly prohibited to dispose of these materials in bulk at the construction site, and they must be kept away from moisture. Auxiliary materials include cement, sand, water, as well as tools such as sieves, window screens, wooden trowels, steel trowels, small ash shovels, straight wooden strips, spirit levels, ink lines, eight-shaped rulers, wire support plates, hardwood partitions, brooms, spray bottles, nutcrackers, wooden hammers, iron wires, large wire hammers, steel-bladed cutting tools, diamond cutting machines, and mixing equipment. Now, let’s go through the detailed steps involved in the installation of paving bricks.

1. When unboxing the paving bricks, please verify the product specifications, dimensions, color codes, and other details. Ensure that products of the same type are grouped together and avoid mixing different items.
2. Before laying the square bricks, first try laying them on the ground and determine the bricklaying method based on the layout pattern. Sort the rectangular tiles into categories according to their different colors, numbers, and sizes, and mark each tile with a corresponding number. After using tiles of the same color code or size, you may proceed with adjacent color codes or sizes.
3. During pre-laying, draw two perpendicular lines on the prepared surface. Use a level to ensure the tiles are laid evenly according to the designed dimensions. When marking the lines, be sure to leave an appropriate gap—typically between 5 mm and 12 mm is ideal.
4. Clear the site by first sprinkling an appropriate amount of water to facilitate construction. It is recommended to mix 325# cement with sand in a ratio of 1:3 to create mortar.
5. The laying of paving bricks on the square should be carried out after the base layer has fully cured. During the installation process, gently press down with your hands to ensure balanced contact between the brick base and the surface, facilitating the expulsion of air bubbles. Next, lightly tap the brick surface with a wooden mallet to achieve a perfectly level finish, ensuring that the brick base is thoroughly embedded in the mortar and eliminating any risk of hollowing. Finally, use the wooden mallet to further flatten the brick surface and verify its horizontal alignment using a spirit level, guaranteeing that the paving bricks are laid uniformly and precisely.
6. Lay and tamp simultaneously as needed, using cement mortar or incorporating colored additives for tamping. Typically, the joint width should be between 5 to 12 mm, with a depth of 2 mm. Ensure the base is fully and evenly filled. Of course, paving tiles are more durable, effectively preventing detachment and breakage during use.
7. During construction, promptly wipe away any cement or other sticky residues from the surface to prevent them from lingering too long and becoming difficult to remove. After laying the tiles for 12 hours, tap the tile surface gently to check for hollow spots; if any are detected, re-lay the affected area immediately.
8. Pedestrian walking and scrubbing can be carried out 24 hours after the square tiles have been laid. Mix the cleaning agent with clean water, thoroughly wash the tiles, and a vibrant grid pattern will soon come into view.
9. Construction is prohibited during the severe cold phase of winter. When temperatures drop below 5°C, antifreeze agents should be added to the cement mortar. After construction is completed, the brick surface must be covered with straw mats to facilitate cement hardening. This process, combined with proper curing and bonding of the bricks, ensures that the structure can be safely used after a 15-day maintenance period.
The above are the detailed construction steps for plaza tiles, and all relevant units must implement them according to the specified requirements.
