Plaza tile operators must have more than two years of practical engineering experience and must undergo training and pass assessments to obtain the required certification before taking up their posts. The professional supervisor shall provide technical briefings to operators according to design requirements and acceptance criteria, and a sample room should be established if necessary. Prior to construction, verify that the base completion meets both design specifications and relevant standards, ensuring the base surface is perfectly level. If any unevenness is detected, corrective measures must be taken one day in advance, followed by completing the handover and inspection procedures as originally scheduled. Additionally, conduct on-site inspections to confirm whether the dimensions of the plaza tiles align with the design specifications and actual size moduli. Verify that the ambient temperature at the construction site remains conducive to the work process (construction should cease when temperatures drop below 0°C during winter). Finally, thoroughly review the project drawings and gain a clear understanding of the site conditions.

 

Select plaza tiles according to the material acceptance criteria. Generally, by Select 3 to 4 specifications based on the 1mm level difference. All specifications must ensure that the tiles are straight, with complete edges and corners, consistent patterns, no cracks, and a flat surface free from unevenness or warping. If any of these conditions are not satisfied, the affected tiles should be carefully selected or repaired to ensure compliance with the required standards.

 

After the cleaned base has been thoroughly rinsed, pay special attention to... During the special-area cleaning hours for "Point 5-3," after completion of the cleaning process, perform a 24-hour maintenance procedure on the base sprinklers. Based on the drawings and previously established reference points (which must be inspected beforehand), lay out the construction control lines. At key areas—particularly special locations as well as junctions where colors or materials differ—mark cross-shaped control lines that intersect perpendicularly to ensure precise positioning and facilitate quality control during construction. All control lines must be thoroughly inspected and documented. Once verified, these control lines should be carefully protected to guarantee their effective usability. For the plaza tiles, install reinforcement bars according to the elevation specifications outlined in the drawings, ensuring that the spacing between bars does not exceed 1.5 meters. For areas with varying elevations, use the control lines as a reference point. Next, prepare a cement mortar mixture with a ratio of 1:2 or 1:2.5, apply it to the marked lines, and pull it into place. Finally, verify that the resulting height meets the specified requirements.

 

Evenly sweep the cement slurry onto the clean substrate. (Water-cement ratio of 0.5, plain cement slurry). Apply a bonding layer by sweeping 1:2 or 1:2.5 dry-hardened cement mortar onto the substrate, followed by compacting with a trowel and iron float to ensure tight adhesion between the mortar and the substrate. Prior to laying, test the paving tiles by directly placing them onto the adhesive layer according to the actual paving requirements, then gently tap them into position using a rubber mallet. This step ensures both the evenness of the tiles and the straightness of their joints, while also preventing issues such as uneven compression in the bonding layer. If necessary, add extra mortar; however, avoid removing excess material excessively. Finally, coat the back of each tile with a bonding layer made of pigment-grade cement mixed with an appropriate amount of 107 adhesive (10% to 15 mm thick), ensuring uniform application.

 

During actual paving, apply the rubber hammer vibration evenly and with controlled force to prevent damage to the plaza tiles. Carefully inspect for both flatness and levelness, ensuring that the tile joints are smooth, the surface remains even, and the color remains consistent throughout. Verify that the cross-joints are aligned smoothly, the seams maintain uniform horizontal alignment, and the tiles are firmly bonded without any hollow spots or voids. Once completed, ensure the surface is thoroughly cleaned the very next day, removing all debris from within the tile joints. 48 hours later, perform watering maintenance for more than 24 hours (with at least two watering sessions). After curing, proceed with the treatment of brick joints. The design requires that the brick joint width exceeds 3 mm, using a hooking method with a mixture of white cement and fine sand in a ratio of 1:1. If there are specific color requirements for the brick joints, white cement can be mixed with an appropriate amount of colorant for grouting. Ensure that the color and depth of the brick joints remain uniform throughout. For any pre-reserved holes on the ground or openings in plaza tiles, ensure that the edges are smooth, aesthetically pleasing, and tightly connected. In areas requiring special treatments such as expansion joints or settlement joints, apply a bonding layer made of cement mortar mixed with 107 adhesive at a ratio of 1:2 or 1:2.5. After troweling the surface, complete the remaining steps as specified.
