What are the precautions for tile installation?

Tile These are refractory metal oxides and semimetal oxides, forming acid-resistant ceramics or stone-based architectural and decorative materials such as tiles through processes including grinding, mixing, pressing, glazing, and sintering. The primary raw materials typically consist of a mixture of clay, quartz sand, and high-temperature compressed components, resulting in materials with exceptionally high hardness. Now, let's briefly explore the key considerations for tile installation.

1. Before packaging, please verify that the product model, grade, size, and color number displayed on the packaging are consistent. If you have any concerns regarding product quality, please contact the factory or distributor promptly. Once labeled, it may become difficult to clarify further.

2. Before tiling, ensure the surface or substrate is smooth and dry. The base layer must achieve sufficient hardness before tiles can be laid. During installation, adjust the tile joints to maintain a consistent 2–3 mm gap.

3. Laying out Tile Before laying the tiles, they should be soaked in the water dispenser for approximately 20 to 30 minutes to allow excess moisture to drain off. Otherwise, once laid, the tiles may easily expand as the remaining moisture evaporates. Additionally, prior to installation, ensure that the color number and dimensions indicated on the outer packaging match the model you ordered. Verify also that bricks with the same color code exhibit no noticeable color variations or defects such as cracks. Only by using tiles of a uniform color code can consistent and even color distribution throughout the installation be achieved.

4. It is recommended to use cement grade 325 and specify the proportion for the drying method. For the base layer: (cement : sand = 1:3, including tax), and for the bonding layer: (cement : sand = 1:2, including tax).

5. The pattern puzzle features are clearly visible; please acknowledge these features and ensure consistent orientation during the assembly process. In cases where the pattern features are subtle or absent, align the pieces based on construction requirements.

6. After packaging is complete, any residual cement stains on the brick surface should be promptly cleaned up. Newly laid flooring requires 4 to 5 days of curing to prevent external forces from causing unevenness in localized areas.

Tile What are the maintenance tips? Let's take a brief look at them together below.

1: The ceramic shines like new. Use white vinegar and lemon peel. First, remove any surface dirt, then dip a soft cloth in white vinegar and gently wipe the surface, or rub it with lemon peel—your cleaning will leave it gleaming as if brand-new.

2: Anti-seepage and Mold-Resistant Measures. The bathroom walls should be tiled for a clean and vibrant appearance, and a multi-purpose detergent can be used to keep them spotless. Tile To clean the crevices, apply a small amount of laundry detergent onto the toothbrush to remove dirt, then use a brush to evenly coat the gaps with a waterproofing agent. This not only prevents water penetration but also inhibits mold growth.

Tile What are the methods for handling yellowing? Due to improper storage of materials, yellowing occurs when tiles and mosaics—during transportation from the factory to the construction site—are exposed to rain while still packaged in cardboard boxes or tied with twine. The moisture penetrates the polished surface of the building materials, resulting in the formation of yellowish spots. Depending on the extent of contamination and the degree of internal penetration, the following treatment methods can be applied:

(1) Individuals with light-colored stains and relatively small affected areas can use a 30% concentration oxalic acid solution for cleaning.

(2) Severely contaminated areas should be cleaned with hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂). Typically, the effectiveness of treating contaminated building materials becomes evident after 12 to 24 hours, followed by thorough rinsing with clean water. Oxidizing and fading tiles with strong oxidants will not compromise the luster of the building materials. Tens of thousands of contaminated white tiles have already been successfully cleaned. Tile Subsequently, all achieved satisfactory results. This method requires minimal investment, features a simple process, and ensures that operators remain free from toxicity.
